You received a letter from Wasatch Surplus Claim Services

This page explains why we contacted you, who we are, and what you can do next. We sent you a letter because public records suggest there may be surplus funds connected to a Utah property and your name appeared in those records.

    Why you received this letter

In Utah, when a property is sold through a trustee sale, tax sale, or similar court-ordered sale, the sale price sometimes exceeds the total amount owed. When that happens, the extra amount is held as surplus funds by the county, court, or trustee.

We review public records from Utah counties, including sale notices, surplus-funds listings, and related filings, to identify cases where surplus funds may exist. Your name appeared in those records in connection with a property that went through such a sale.

This does not mean money is definitely owed to you. Records can be outdated, claims can already be resolved, or other parties may have a stronger claim. Our letter is an invitation to review the public record together and see whether a claim is worth preparing.

What to look for in your letter

Your letter includes the county, approximate sale date, and property information we reviewed. If those details do not match what you remember, let us know and we will take another look. There is no obligation.

    How we found this record

    1. 1County trustee or tax sale results are published as public record.
    2. 2We check those results for cases that show a possible surplus.
    3. 3When a prior owner or interested party is listed, we attempt outreach by mail.

We do not use credit reports, private databases with non-public information, or confidential court records. We work only from information that is publicly available through county and court offices.

    Who we are

Wasatch Surplus Claim Services, LLC is a private Utah company. We are not a government agency, not a court, not a law firm, and not an insurance adjuster. We provide document assistance to help eligible people prepare surplus-funds claim paperwork.

    We are private

We are not affiliated with the State of Utah, any county, or any court. Our letters come from a private company offering assistance you may or may not want.

    No upfront fee

Reviewing your record costs nothing. If we help prepare a claim, our fee applies only if funds are recovered. We explain the percentage before you decide.

    You can file yourself

You are not required to hire us. You may contact the county or court directly to learn about claiming surplus funds on your own.

No outcome is guaranteed. Each claim depends on the record, eligibility, documentation, and the office holding the funds. We cannot promise that money exists, that a claim will be approved, or that a certain amount will be paid.

    Independent Utah resource

You can also search Utah's official unclaimed-property database at MyCash Utah. This resource is operated by the Utah State Treasurer and is separate from Wasatch Surplus Claim Services. Some property-sale surplus funds may not appear there and may instead be held by a county or court.
